The Lake of Bled

Lake Bled

Lake Bled is undoubtedly one of the most iconic and photogenic places in Slovenia. You probably recognize the photo with the idyllic Bled Island in the middle of the lake. Lake Bled has become the icon for the beauty of Slovenia.

The small island in the lake can be reached by traditional ‘pletna’ boat. Rent such a rowboat and paddle around the lake while enjoying the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. On warm days, we recommend taking a dip in the clear water of the lake.

Take a walk of about 6 kilometers around the lake. And climb the mountain on the south side of the lake to get a fantastic view from the viewpoint.
