Lake Jasna

The small town of Kranjska Gora boasts a beautiful lake: Lake Jasna. Although Lake Jasna is referred to as a single lake, it is actually two lakes connected together. If you decide to drive the Vrsic mountain pass route, you’ll pass by this lake. Be sure to make a stop!

Swimming in Lake Jasna

In summer, it’s lovely to spend time by and in the lake. You can sunbathe, have a swim, or enjoy a drink at one of the cafés beside the water. As the lake is made up of two parts, there is plenty of space both in and around it. There’s also lots to keep children entertained around Lake Jasna. Take a photo at one of the photo spots, or with the statue of the mythical Slovenian goat Zlatorog.

Swimming with your dog

Both in the lakes of Jasna and in the river that runs alongside, you’re allowed to let your dog cool off. Enjoy the water together!

Jasna: a lake for every season

In summer, you can swim in Lake Jasna. You can also soak up the sun on the banks or enjoy a drink at the nearby bars.

In autumn, the lake is a very photogenic spot. The beautiful autumn colours reflect in the water. A perfect place for a stroll with your camera at the ready.

In winter, Lake Jasna transforms into a picturesque spot for skating, surrounded by a magical winter landscape.

And in spring, a visit to the lake is well worth it. Once again, ideal for a beautiful walk around the lake with the snow-capped Triglav peaks in the background, and glimpses of the lake floor through the crystal-clear water.

Parking at Jasna

You can park for free along the road, but as spaces there are limited, we recommend you use one of the two dedicated car parks by Jasna. Unfortunately, these do require payment.

On foot, it takes just 5 minutes to walk from Kranjska Gora to Lake Jasna along a well-maintained path beside the main road. You can find Lake Jasna on Google Maps here
