It’s a paradise for nature lovers, photographers and water enthusiasts. Discover where to find the beautiful lakes in Slovenia. Where can you swim? Where can you park? Discover the lakes you absolutely must visit while travelling in fairy-tale Slovenia.

Lake Bled

Lake Bled

Lake Bled is without doubt one of the most iconic and photogenic places in Slovenia. You’ll recognise the photo with the idyllic Bled Island set in the middle of the lake. Lake Bled has become the icon for the beauty of Slovenia.

The little island in the lake is reachable by traditional ‘pletna’ boat. Hire a rowing boat like this and gently paddle around the lake while enjoying the wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. On warm days, we recommend taking a dip in the lake’s clear waters.

Take a walk of about 6 kilometres around the lake. And climb the mountain on the southern side of the lake for a fantastic view of the lake from the viewpoint.
