If you go to Slovenia, of course you want to see Lake Bled. But our favourite lake is close to the Italian border. Lake Zelenci!

The most beautiful lake in Slovenia

This small lake is hidden in a forest along the main road. It has crystal-clear water and is surrounded by beautiful nature. The lake is a real spring. You can see the water bubbling from the bottom of the lake. Because the water is crystal clear, you can see the fish swim past in front of you.

The lake in this small Zelenci nature reserve is truly a gem. The azure water with the mountain peaks in the background gives you a unique impression. Next to the lake is an observation tower that you can climb to get a good view of the lake. We ourselves found the climb up not very spectacular.

The small lake is not big, but it offers a magical experience. Come to this little lake early in the morning for a serene start to your day.

The lake is a few minutes’ walk from the car park where you can also inexpensively drink a freshly brewed coffee or have Slovenian-style lunch with Ćevapčići.
