The Vintgar Gorge
Very close to Bled you’ll find the beautiful Vintgar Gorge, one of the most popular attractions in Slovenia. Everything you want to know before visiting the Vintgar Gorge can be found here, curated for you by Dutch travellers who frequently visit Slovenia themselves.
A 30-minute walk
In around 30 minutes, you walk along the river and through the gorge. You stroll downstream via wooden bridges between the high rock faces. The path zigzags from left to right, leading you safely alongside rock walls. Because the route descends along a well-maintained path, it’s a safe and easy walk of around 1.6 kilometres.
Along the way, you’ll encounter lovely waterfalls and plenty of photo opportunities to capture the experience.
Return transfer
You can also opt for a paid transfer. A taxi will take you back to the starting point where you parked your car. Transfers can be arranged in advance or on the spot at the exit of the Vintgar Gorge.
Best time to visit?
Especially in summer, Vintgar Gorge is a popular attraction with tourists arriving continuously by coach. That’s why our advice is to visit very early in the morning or only after 4:00 pm. Then it’s less crowded, you can walk more pleasantly, and you won’t need to queue for entry.
