Žovnek Castle

On the footpath towards this castle, you will enjoy the great views of Lake Žovne and the forested slopes of the Dobrovlje plateau. Even the town of Celje can be seen.

Celje Castle

Celje Castle is the largest medieval castle in Slovenia. Follow in the footsteps of the Counts of Celje. Dating back to the 12th century, the castle offers a glimpse of life back then. Now the castle is used for events. Inside the castle are chapels and halls with beautiful paintings. Here you can also learn the Trappist monks. Outside the castle, there is a garden with herbs. The castle has its own shop with souvenirs and local products. In the castle’s café, you can have a drink with homemade cakes.
