Lake Velenje
A beautiful little lake in the north-east of Slovenia for relaxation, cooling off, and water fun? That’s the lake near the town of Velenje.
Swimming in Lake Velenje?
The lake has several beaches, including one that’s child-friendly with shallow water and playground equipment. From the small beach you can walk straight into the water. Do note, it’s a pebble beach, so water shoes are recommended. You can enjoy a wonderful swim in the lake. In summer the water temperature is very comfortable. It’s the ideal place to cool down.
Along the water you can bask in the sun on the grassy lawns. There are parasols and shade cloths, too. And plenty of small trees provide extra shade around the lake. But don’t forget to bring your sun cream!

Visiting Velenje with the family?
There’s plenty to do around the lake. You can swim and paddleboard to your heart’s content. There’s even a play course with an inflatable water castle. Perfect for a day of water fun with the whole family. You can let your children play safely in the water, as in summer there’s a lifeguard supervising.

Picnics and dining
There are picnic and barbecue facilities available. You can also enjoy grilled dishes and freshly baked pizza at one of the restaurants at Velenje Beach. There’s also a food truck serving delicious burgers! Not hungry? Relax with a beer or a (virgin) cocktail on the luxury terrace of the beach bar.
