Day trip Mojstrana

Discover the stunning nature of the Triglav National Park around the village of Mojstrana.

Beautiful route from Krnica to Mojstrana

From the Bled region, many people drive to Mojstrana via the motorway. But it’s better to take the road through the Triglav National Park. From the village of Krnica, a beautiful road leads towards Mojstrana. It’s a fantastic route through unspoilt nature.

Plan your route

You can follow the route from Bled to Mojstrana, but of course, you can do it in the opposite direction too.

First, navigate to this point in Krnica, then take a left after the bridge. From there, simply follow the ‘main’ road.

Halfway along the route, you’ll come across a lovely little restaurant with a terrace, offering splendid views of the Triglav mountain range.

Coffee with a view in Dovje

Enjoy excellent coffee with mountain views in the Triglav National Park. Just outside Mojstrana, on the main road, you’ll find a beautiful viewpoint and good coffee.

Picnic by the Sava river

Just outside Mojstrana, you’ll find a wonderful spot by the river Sava for a break or a picnic.

These stops are close together but each is well worth it. And not to be missed: the Peričnik waterfall!

Climb to the Peričnik waterfall

Perhaps the most beautiful waterfall in Slovenia. And as a bonus, there’s a smaller ‘little brother’ nearby. Two magnificent waterfalls right above each other!

Climb up and even walk behind the Peričnik waterfalls.

Shuttle bus or walk

You’re no longer allowed to park by the waterfall. You can take a beautiful walk (about 60 minutes) from the car park to the waterfall. After the barriers, you can follow the river to the left and then, almost until the end (up to the last big hill), take the route through the woods and by the river.

Alternatively, hop on the shuttle bus from Mojstrana. (Runs every 20 minutes in summer.) That way, you’ll save yourself quite a bit of walking. Because even at the waterfall itself, a steep climb still awaits you.
